Beard Contest Announcement

With this article, we wanted to accomplish two things: First, we are so happy to announce that Better Man Beard, in partnership with Boise Brewing, will be hosting a spectacular beard contest this September 6th, 2025. The exact event details are still being worked out, but one thing’s for sure: You will want to be there! Much like our recent beard judging contests, we will be judging beards on all manner of criteria and will be giving out excellent prizes like the Better Man Beard Hatchet and leather sheath. World Beard Day Wild And Whacky Traditions

You may not have heard of World Beard Day, or even if you had, you probably haven’t taken part in some of the crazy celebrations that are popular in other countries like Denmark, Germany, and Australia. We all know that those countries know how to party hard, especially in Denmark where they literally invented Vikings who were basically frat guys with boats who wanted to take the party to the ends of the earth and back. Here are some of the fun things that they get up to in Denmark for World Beard Day:

• The bearded men (and their friends and family) gather for great feasts
• They hold axe-throwing competitions
• Beard styling and size competitions aka the Beardlympics where they compete in categories like:
  • Longest Beard
  • Best Styled Beard
  • Most Creative Facial Hair
  • Best Fake Beard (for non-growers who want to join the fun)
• Mock battles after which the losing side has to shave their beards in shame
• In certain villages, they actually ban shaving and razors for 24 hours to mark the start of World Beard Day!
• Beard themed talent shows
• Trivia contests
• Beard fashion shows
  • Show off your beard and your style all in one place
• There are even synchronized beard dancing events!
