Halloween Costume Guide 2021
10/21/2021

It’s that time of year again. Time to start really narrowing down your Halloween costume for the big party this year. Whether you are wanting to go for the scare factor or to make a pop culture statement with your costume this year, we are truly spoiled for choice. Let’s look at some of the top costume ideas for Halloween this year.

A Character From Squid Game

Unless you have been living under a rock these last few weeks, you have probably seen or at least seen memes about the Netflix smash hit, Squid Game. This South Korean dystopian drama artfully combines the gore and terror of the latest slasher flick with a well crafted cerebral take on the struggles of navigating the hellscape of late stage capitalism. It’s like watching a gory Ted Talk produced by the creators of Lost.

You can dress up in the green track suits and sneakers of the many ill-fated contestants or you can put together one of the brightly colored uniforms of the masked managers. The choice is yours!

A Contestant From The Great British Baking Show

This is the perfect costume for those who want to have fun on Halloween on a budget. It is especially great for bearded men because there are several excellent contestants with beards that you can go as. As a side note, this costume allows you to walk around while holding and/or eating a giant cake, so there’s that little bonus. For an extra level of silliness, you can also try dressing up as Prue Leith or Paul Hollywood and judge everyone else’s soggy bottoms!

A Character From The Suicide Squad

This irreverent dark comedy is no stranger to Halloween hits when it comes to costumes. Harley Quinn took the 2016 Halloween season by storm and now she and the gang are back again for more blood soaked wacky adventures. For an easy costume, you can dress up as Rick Flag with a yellow t-shirt and khakis, or go all in on a sophisticated King Shark get up. Just don’t dress up as a personalized license plate.

Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala “Dress”

The Met Gala is the place to go if you either love high fashion and want to embrace the latest and greatest trends or if you absolutely despise fashion and want to wear something that satirizes the array of privileged excess on display at the event: because no matter what camp you’re in, no one will be able to tell the difference. Whether Ms Kardashian’s get up was meant as a precise satire or as an attempt at spearheading a new clothing trend, we will never know. What we do know is that a quick and dirty mock up of her outfit can be put together relatively quickly and just like Kim herself, you will be the center of attention.

The Container Ship That Got Stuck In The Suez Canal

It goes to show that a single ship can truly have an impact on the world. Embrace your inner unintentional trade blockade and show up at your next Halloween party as the ship that single handedly stopped world trade for a few days. All you will need is a few cardboard boxes, some paint, glue, and a lot of time and patience to put this one together. Bonus points if you put little miniature backhoes down on the bottom rear of the costume that are helping dig you out of the sand.

No matter what you want to dress as, we hope you have a wonderful Halloween from Better Man Beard!
