Idaho Made Boise Idaho

Back in 2010, the iPhone was only 3 years old and the headlines of the day were filled with Lady Gaga, Angry Birds, and Breaking Bad. What should have been big news that year around here was the founding of one Idaho’s most important companies: Idaho Made.

Idaho Made was founded by a small group of people with a simple idea: to showcase great handmade products made by Idahoans. It started on Etsy as a group of 20 original members that featured art, crafts, and souvenirs produced in the Gem State. Of course, it gained in popularity as more and more people were interested in buying the products they were featuring. They eventually settled on the name “Idaho Made” after a few iterations. We like what they came up with!

Owners, Steven Dexter, Sarah Christensen and Molly Seaman, are still running Idaho Made to this day. The store is currently managed by Betsie Richardson and Rob Ingram. Located in the Pioneer Tent Building in the Old Boise district (108 N. 6th Street), their store is elegant and beautiful. It is filled to the brim with gorgeous handmade jewelry, knitted and crocheted items, bath and beauty products, and just about everything else that can be made by hand. But, don’t take our word for it. KIVI Channel 6 news recently did a featured story that was shot inside Idaho Made, highlighting Better Man Beard. Check out the video below to get a feel for what Idaho Made has to offer.

If you find yourself downtown between the hours of 10am and 6pm, you owe it to yourself to stop by Idaho Made, pick up a few items, and meet the people who have dedicated their lives to supporting local artists, craftsmen and craftswomen, and other small businesses. They give a voice and a platform to those who may not be able to share their work with the rest of the community. Idaho Made lifts up the hard work and talent of your neighbors and gives them a foothold in this uncertain economy.
