Warm Up At These Great Local Coffee Shops
02/05/2025

Our little slice of Heaven here in Boise is a great town for working, playing, and connecting with friends and family. Among other things, we have a thriving coffee shop scene with shops all around the valley. They make great spots for conducting a business meeting, studying, or just enjoying a warm cup of Joe with a friend on a cold day. Here are five of our top recommendations for coffee shops in and around Boise that you should try out.

Java - Hyde Park

This classic little shop is a cozy place to sip a Bowl Of Soul (their signature drink!) in a comfortable, quiet, and relaxing atmosphere. Java has so many things going for it, that it’s hard to fit them all in here. Their coffee roast is meticulously chosen and hand-crafted from local roasters. They put thick homemade cream on all of their drinks that makes all of the difference in the world when it comes to taste and drinkability. Outside of coffee, they also offer a great breakfast and brunch menu that is sure to please.

Broadcast Coffee - Downtown Boise

No, it’s not Starbucks, but it does come straight from Seattle, Washington. Broadcast Coffee has four locations, three of which are in Washington and the fourth is located conveniently in downtown Boise off of Jefferson. Known for its smooth and rich brews, this spot offers a modern yet inviting atmosphere. Their baristas are attentive and skilled, ensuring every cup is crafted to perfection. A great place to work on your novel or screenplay or chat with friends.

Flying M Coffee House - Also Downtown Boise

Flying M has been around so long that it’s easy to believe that the coffee shop was the first building in Boise and the rest of the city just grew up around it. Flying M has a wide selection of coffee and tea drinks, of which we recommend their “dirty chai” which is a chai tea latte with two shots of espresso. If you really need to get up and go for an important meeting or to reach a looming deadline, then that is the drink for you. Its funky, laid-back vibe and ample seating make it ideal for working or relaxing with friends. And don’t forget to visit their gift shop! They have some of the wildest and wackiest novelties you can think of and they make great stocking stuffers.
